Elon Musk, the billionaire co-founder of Tesla TSLA, -0.56% and SpaceX, has listed a four-bedroom, midcentury-modern home in Brentwood, Calif., for $4.49 million, Forbes reports.
Musk, who boasts a $21.1 billion net worth, and his now-ex-wife, Talulah Riley, purchased this 3,000-square-foot property for $3.69 million in 2014. It’s one of several homes Musk owns in Los Angeles.
Described by Forbes as a property resembling an angular spaceship, the home has a boomerang shape to maximize space on its triangle-shaped lot. That layout lends itself to a curved hallway lined by floor-to-ceiling windows.
Though common in luxury homes, it’s no surprise that — given Musk’s profession — this home has a number of smart-tech features. The security system, the curtains, the speakers and lighting can all be controlled by a mobile device.
Other touches in the home include a roomy kitchen that opens to a living area, and a rear yard with a saltwater pool and patio areas.
Musk, described as an “eccentric” billionaire, earned himself a number of headlines in 2018. Last February, he sent his own Tesla Roadster to Mars. But on the other hand, in September, he also smoked pot on camera while recording a podcast with Joe Rogan, then faced the wrath of the Securities and Exchange Commission after tweeting an idea to take Tesla private.
David Kramer and Andrew Buss of Hilton & Hyland have this listing.
