Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Wednesday he expects to go to Beijing to continue trade talks with the Chinese “at some point in the near future.” Speaking at a Senate Appropriations hearing, Mnuchin said talks with China have been “constructive” but there is “still a lot of work to do.” The U.S. and China have in recent days slapped tariffs on billions of dollars of one another’s goods, sparking stock market losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.07% was off about 63 points Wednesday morning, a day after President Donald Trump downplayed the trade tensions as a “little squabble.”
