HyreCar Inc. HYRE, +0.00% shares were up 0.5% in after-hours trading Wednesday after the digital car-sharing service reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street estimates. HyreCar reported a loss of $4.9 million in the quarter, or 40 cents a share, compared with a loss of $2.7 million, or 31 cents a share, in the year-ago fourth quarter. Revenue grew 52% to $4.8 million from $3.2 million a year ago. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had expected a loss of 15 cents a share on sales of $4.7 million. HyreCar shares are up 69% in the last year. The broader S&P 500 index SPX, +1.15% is down 12% in the last year.
